Think I've found the problem, kinked fuel hose!

Still doesn't explain the fact that I can rev to what I like with the speedo disconnected.....

Have you checked for a speedo healer or other black box behind the clocks?

Speedo has a aftermarket face on it that let you read the speed in mph but leaves the clocks in km.

When I unplugged the speedo there wasn't any blackbox or anything, but I can always take pictures so your more experienced eyes can take a look.

The limp mode doesn't stop it revving at any rev point, it will still rev to redline with light loads on the engine, just has less power. It's very subtle and difficult to notice in neutral. I accidentally did a lap of a racetrack in limp mode, it still tevved to redline in the first few gears... oops:

Let's hope you've found the issue, a kinked hose would certainly cause those symptoms.

That makes sense.

I'll get myself a new fuel hose and plug the speedo back in, hopefully that'll sort it (fingers crossed).

So I got a new fuel hose, fitted it and plugged the speedo back in.

And it's still doing the same thing.

Resistor mod time? I think so.....

You might want to check that fuel flows easily from the tap when a vacuum is applied to the hose. Could still be fuel starvation caused by clogged filter or faulty diaphragm.

Took the tank off, stuck a pipe on the vacuum hose bit and applied a vacuum, petrol flowed out nice and easy.

Now to fit my resistor, and see if that works....

So, fuel hose changed, tap diaphragm working correctly, vacuum hose in good condition, CDI wiring all in good condition and resistor mod done.

Bike holds 9-10k revs easily in first, second and third, then bogs down in 4th, 5th and 6th.

It didn't do this before I crashed it, and now I'm stuck for ideas of what it could be.

Very annoying.

Is your airbox, flap et al all correct?
