NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
Can someone please measure the length of the NC29 dipstick indicator.
The reason for this seemingly daft question is:
I’ve just carried out an oil and filter change, and replenished with 3.4 Ltr’s of oil, but nothing registers on the D-Stick.
I need an accurate measurement to compare against the one currently installed.
Obviously it's on level ground.
Thanks in advance.

Re: NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
Ok, I was waiting to see if anyone else could do it for ya as I was only using my phone its a pain cutting and pasting...
This is from a post I answered on another site where someone posted a similar question.
Length of stick, taken from just under the plastic knob is 49mm. High mark 37mm and mid point is 44mm. All taken with a plastic ruler so is not perfect but should get you away. Go for 44mm ish. Level from the normal knob resting point.
I know flling with oil I always seem to add more than recommended.

Re: NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
Ill second that.
Around 49mm from base of knob to end of dipstick.
From the bottom of the dipstick to the max oil marker looks around 10mm.
Took a photo but forget how to add them on here!
I wonder if its possible to push the dipstick into the plastic knob - so marking it shorter? Not on purpose of course, say if you dropped it.
Its also poss you have a different bikes dip stick, I suppose if the previous owner lost it they would bang any one on and worry about it later.

Re: NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
It should have a KT8 part number printed on top.

Re: NC29 Dip Stick measurement.
Chaps,
Many thanks I do appreciate it.
Well it's short...... from the plastic base to the tip is just 40mm, the high mark is at 26mm.
Anyone know the part number of the correct D-Stick.
Thanks again
