Big thanks to Viper_Biker!

Post by Sam-NI »

Took my wee sickly NC30 to Gareths house today, and a good few hours later, after him discovering some interesting 'engineering' by its previous owner, it rode off feeling like a new bike!

Its wonderful what a carb clean and balance can do for a bike when it's in the right hands!

Thanks very much!

Racked up about 150miles today, bike didn't miss a beat!

Had a great time, even though my mate ran into the back of me on her FZR600 at a roundabout and dropped both of them! Not too much damage, and everyone was ok!

Glad you're happy. Just a few basics and the bike is running really nicely. Jetting is fine but the A/F mix was wrong, float height in 1 carb was out, carbs were out of sync, 1mm (2 x 0.5mm) shims under each needle, a badly routed choke cable, carb idle screw has been broken and welded, carbs a bit gummed up and the sub-air filter and rear head-to-airbox tube was missing, but all sorted now.

All bits either replaced, fitted with new ones or fixed and everything is tickety boo. Followed Sam around the corner too make sure everything was all good and after today's wee run you had I'm glad to hear you're happy with the bike.

Sounds like you're a handy man to have quite locally!
May have to try & hire your expertise when/if I get my bike to that stage :)
