Yes it's a good idea to fit new ones. Rick Oliver sells nc30 float bowl o-rings which fit the 24 and are dead cheap.

I've only ever replaced float bowl gaskets if they're torn or nicked or completely flat to the face of the bowl. A smear of Vaseline over the gasket before re-assembly keeps it moist and prevents drying out :peace:
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Thanks for advice ;)
Are the defo the same as nc30 ?
I guess I could fed some petrol into the carbs to test before I refit them !
They do look a bit flat

I find the biggest problem is if you don't refit the same float bowls to the original carbs they came off they can leak, it really depends on how old and brittle the gaskets are.

Yes you can test for leaks before refitting by putting some fuel down the inlet line.

The nc24 gaskets are the same as nc30.
