NC35 speedo reset knob removal

Post by fastdruid »

Er how?

I'm trying to replace the clock back but I can't get the speedo knob off.

Is it just a pull off? I've tried pulling it but am I not using enough force or is there some trick to remove it?

There is a very, very, very tiny phillips head screw on the inside of the knob. Look down that little hole in the center.

I looked originally and it was yellow, I scraped a bit and it was still yellow and pretty solid looking so I left it alone.

I've just scraped lots more and finally came across the head of a screw, except I don't have a screwdriver fine and long enough to get down that far. :(
Oh well I shall have to buy some more tools! :D

Looks like they put a blob of resin down there which is why I didn't spot the screw in the first place.

Thanks

That little bastard screw can be a right pain, especially when you drop it into the V of the engine!!

I use These
