NC35 Rev Problem and blowing fuse after wash

Post by thutchoo »

gave my bike a well deserved clean, went out was fine for about half a mile then suddenly engine making a funny noise (sillier to the one when you run out of fuel) and didn't want to go over 5k revs ish. Its definitely not fuel because i have a full tank and rode it for a further mile or two and it is running fine under 5000 revs which kinda rules out a wet air filter? Possibly something to do with the CDI?
also the horn/indicator/side stand/brake light etc fuse has blown, replaced the fuse 6 hours later and it blew again straight away.
I will let it dry out overnight and give it a start tomorrow but won't be able to test electrics as I've blown all my fuses Grrr
Anyway, if someone could give some suggestions/help that would be great

Thanks in advance

The fuse blowing puts the bike into limp home mode therefore wont rev about 5k, sort out why the fuse is blowing then it will be fine. Check the rear brake switch wiring isnt touching the exhaust.

Yep thats exactly what the problem is, thanks! Took the heat shield off for the exhaust before and being a total idiot forgot to re-route the wiring DOH!
