NC23 Tyres For Track Use

Hey guys,just bought a 1989 CBR400RR(NC23)For mainly trackday use and wanted folks opinions on suitable tyres for use @ Mallory/Donnington/Darley Moor etc,@ the moment it has got Battlaxe BT020 120/60zr17 on the front & Battlaxe BT020 160/60zr18 on the rear,these are well worn & will require replacing very soon,not that worried about price/lifespan just wanted to know if there was a set of tyres that are up to the job,,,,really appreciate any replies !!. :peace:

First off , dont use a 160 rear , they have a 4.1/2 inch rim so thats only really rated to a 150 section.
I suggest Dunlops but i am paid to say that lol.

Cheers kiwi,just been looking around @ tyres for her and keep being told to put a NC29 rear wheel on her and this gives me more choice of tyre with it being 17inch,,is it this straight forward..?

I found this in another thread that may help, it seems pretty straight forward:

Got myself an NC29 rear wheel,just in the process of swapping everything over,now I have 17 inch front and rear any input as to what tyres to use ??

Yeah. 29 wheel is a must. You may have to spend a couple of mins filing the brake carrier. I didn't on mine.
090's. No questions there.
Have used Dunl;ops and found I couldn't hold my line exactly where I wanted. On the road they were fine.
If you are fast enough, then Supercorsas are a great track tyre in warm/hot conditions. I use 090's and dont bother using Wets any mmore

Guys,

i'm also in the market for a set of sticky black one's for my 29.

Anyone used the Bridgestone BT-003RS tyres???? not cheap but.......

Agree with tanuki here and the Pirelli spec sheet for the Supercorsas says the preferred rim width for the 160 is 4.5"
