RVF 400 Help
Hi guys, I'm jim.
I just wanted to apologise in advance if we are covering the same ground here, but I just wanted to let you know that I have in fact read many threads on the subjects i'm asking about but needed some clarification cause I don't want to ruin anything. It's also easier to go through a lot of this stuff cause some threads get pretty side tracked.
I'm about to buy a race RVF 400, purely track and competition, and want to do it up a bit.
I've heard of the following mods, and would like to clarify some stuff.
1: Drilling holes in carb slides.
a) Is it worth it?
b) What size drill to use.
c) Pro's n cons.
2: I've read a CBR600 F4i rear shock is a good upgrade, and the F4i fits without frame mods as its oil cylinder is separate.
a) True / false?
Comments?
3: Do you really get much out of a HRC or even ebay CDI kit? I remove the speedo cable so its speed shouldn't max out, but should I invest in a ignitech or ebay CDI?
Comments?

Re: RVF 400 Help
1. Do not drill the slides on rvf carbs, that mod is for VFR carbs
2. I've never heard of that shock being used on a NC, shocks that fit are aprillia rs250, cbr600rr and gsxr 600/750 k6/7 but all need work to fit aswell as revalving to work well.
3. Steer well clear of Chinese eBay cdi's. Get a genuine hrc or ignitech.

Re: RVF 400 Help
As per another thread here, I thought the cbr600 shocks with the separate canister might be the go.
