CDI repair?

Any guides on CDI repairs?
I've got a GK76a and would like to buy a second CDI to rebuild and swap over.
What will I need?

I dont really get what your saying? want to buy a donor cdi to repair the dud one? you can buy a new CDI for about £75 on site.

No guides but chris tested his (Single plug sp) CDI for resistance with will tell you if it is that that is the problem

Well I've just brought me a CDI for £20 as I thought may come in handy if mine was to ever break. If it turns out to fix my problem then I would like to have some fun at repairing the dud one. I've seen people use dremels to cut open the box as mine is normal version it doesn't have that foam crap inside. And they replace transistors etc.
I'm getting yellow sparks on 3 plugs and purple on 1 so I got new coils, leads and CDI for £30, incase they're the problem. If not then I know I've now got spares.

Yellow sparks? I'd say it's either coil packs dying or worn HT leads. Yellow sparks are weak, they should all be a nice healthy Yamaha Racing Blue

Well I've got coils and ht leads off another GK76a on the way.

When I earth my plug against engine with the plug thread. I get a nice blue spark jumping between thread and engine? But when I change spark plugs they're still getting yellow spark at the end.

Hope coil pack solves it

where can you buy new coil packs and HT leads incase?

I think WeMoto *may* still do non-OE ones.

Nah for ignition they do
Batteries
Starter relay
Regulator
Spark plugs
Stator
But no HT leads or coils

That's where I got my air filter from.... £20.... Wasn't impressed lol

Its quite easy to get the box apart no need to butcher it.
Take a look on the 400 section of banditalley as there is in depth information on repairing the B4 cdi (same fix).
