Re: Replacing rear shock 76gka with K ser Gsxr shock and spr
^^^ Thanks for understanding what I was trying to get at buddy....I honestly already have a k4 shock, ready to be fitted but just wanted to know whats best.
On my srad I asked the same question....was looking for ohlins shock and the k4 kept coming up but not the srad....was told to be patient and get the shock the bike was designed for.In other words a srad specific one.
Just applying the same logic to the gk76a.

You need to take the weight off the swingarm.
Method i use is axle stands under the pegs.......

thanks!! anybody can provide a pic of it on bike? i've bid the k7 gsxr600 @ us$80.50, include shipping.
i'm worry about the top, will it hit the battery compartment?
"DO I NEED THE K7 DOG BONE TOO OR JUST THE SHOCK?" cos i ordered the shock itself only...

armi400, did you grind the linkage off abit to get the shock in? or just direct swap in?Armi400 wrote:You need to take the weight off the swingarm.

Mate, i haven't done this yet....was just explaing how to get the weight off he suspension for you to carry out the work.ben2306 wrote:armi400, did you grind the linkage off abit to get the shock in? or just direct swap in?Armi400 wrote:You need to take the weight off the swingarm.
Method i use is axle stands under the pegs.......if it needs grinding, i need to standby some tools or whatever. dont want to get stuck with the shock 1/2 way.
The link above suggests that the linkage IS ground down abit but I myself have yet to do it.
Sorry for any confusion mate!
