I first rode an NC30 in 1996, my old boss was in the process of taking his test and wanted one for a first bike, so he asked me to test ride one for him. I absolutely loved the test ride and he subsequently bought the bike on my recommendation. Unfortunately for him once he'd passed his test and started riding the bike he realised his wrists weren't up to the riding position (he suffered from RSI) so he traded it in for something 'more relaxed'.

I've wanted once since then, I'd ridden most of the other 400's back then (ZXR, CBR, GSXR) but the NC30 always had the feel of being a bit more 'special'.

I just picked up a 1990 nc30 yesterday and it has put the fun back into biking for me. I have Triumph St 1050 and a Thunderbird Sport but this little power house is great. The one i bought is ok ,plenty of work to be done, think i,ts got cheap fairings from china on it ( colours don,t match up). Seems a bit boggy low down ( pilot jets maybe?).
Good luck with yours!

Nice one Rich, glad your happy with it. No problem with coming on track but if you are up to it, come and have a brew and a butty and take the pee out of my riding. We're at Cadwell on Tuesday 17th April if you fancy it. The three of us will be parked up together, my black/red NC30, and a red/white/black NC35 and a blue/white SRAD.
PM me nearer the time if your coming and I'll send you my mobile number so we can hook up.

Enjoy your bike pal.

Paul.

The '70's were an awesome track tyre. They haven't been sold new for several years so yours are probably past their best.

thanks for the info...the rear is a little 'squared off' the front has plenty of tread left but they might warrant swopping if I can get a deal....

I love my Type 7. Bought last year, sorted now with Ohlins shock and Rick's fork kit. I've had a reasonable amount of big bikes but these are a jewel and everytime I ride it I smile. It's the delicacy of it, the V4 noise, the high first gear. . . .. .

I was until i had an offer at £2300 for the RWB one, which has now fallen through I think. .. . . . .
being honest I have the two parked in the garage and I prefer the look of the red and black one. The RWB one is mint underneath, i bought my NC as a sort of hack. My other bikes don't go out if it's wet and I don't want yet another 'dry use only' bike! Saying that I just picked up a 1000 multistrada and I can see that getting some use!
As you can see I'm not afraid to use my NC
