RVF 18" Rear Question

Quick question for those that have run an 18" rear on their RVF...since the larger diameter wheel no doubt raises the rear end, did you run with the stock shock height or did you have a bit more ride height on the shock side as well?

Road or track?

An 18" wheel would raise the rear to nearly an ideal height (geometry) I would think for a road rvf with a standard shock.

A longer shock also would be fine for the track, not so great on the road I reckon but it depends what sort of riding you do. Personal preference plays a big part in what sort of handling traits you want, you might need to try it and see.

+1 which is why i always think the NC30 looks a far better proportioned bike. the 17" rear looks like a space saver lol

lol you guys are crazy...

Cam, its for a road bike...I kinda figured the increase from the wheel would be enough but wanted some opinions or experiences, and I'm not really fond of using the stock shock as the ones I have laying about aren't all that great

will probably look at running a newer r6 shock as its the closest to the stock shock length or refurb an NC30 shock with an updated reservoir

Would those concur that the increase from the wheel and the increase from a 600rr or GSXR shock would be too much?? I seem to think so (only list those two as I'd like to use a piggyback reservoir shock instead of the remote reservoir).
