yeah i kinda suspect thats the way it works. similar to if your hungry and dont to buy food, then stay hungry

Oh i see you edited your clever post.

i think what Neo is saying, simply that he would not personally feel it worth paying the extra £ for a UK spec bike over a jap spec bike when bar a few subtle differences are the same.
I also suspect that applies to 95% of NC30 owners too.
And just expanding the flip side of that, unless your uk spec bikes comes with bill of sale, service book, warranty card, etc etc then where you you draw the line and say its acceptable ? set of jap mirrors perhaps ? or jap spec panel maybe ?

Indeed.

I just don't feel that it's worth it, as CRM has put, maybe a mint full history unmolested bike might be a good purchase but I don't feel that the oil-cooler and subtle cosmetic differences make any improvement to the bike.

Most people want to fit an after-market system and re-jet the carbs, if you buy a mint UK bike you'd only devalue it if you did that.

Mint uk bikes are very thin on the ground, and this makes them desirable, to the point where you get a super-mint one, even riding it you risk binning it, weather damage. I like to ride the bike. Decent standard JDM bikes are over half the price.

With regards to the UK can, I'd like to see if the exhaust is also freer-flowing as it's rumoured to be. I could imagine that with the carbs and exhaust this is how the UK NC made the few extra PS over the JDM bike.

With an after-market system and jetted carbs the JDM bike will make the same power as the UK spec bike anyway. My NC24 has an oil-cooler and my NC30 doesn't and I don't see how it makes any difference for normal riding.

Apart from the fact you can say 'I have a super mint UK bike' it's still only an NC30 at the end of the day.

But its still worth twice if not 3 times as much, and why are they fetching this sort of money,,,, its called rarity...

I have a mk1 Astra GTE in white there are 39 left, i have an enormous amount of people asking me to sell it, i get asked weekly.....

Hence, more buyers than sellers this is also what drives prices up and up

To me it's mad , I'd rather have a nice original jap spec for half the price , but like you say it's the collectors that want them hence the higher prices .

And the riders too.
There are 6 in our riders group, and all were out last year.
