Wrong fork tubes

Post by Morsing »

Hi all

I have by accident (my own fooliness  ) ordered some fork tubes from DSS, which apparantly should be a bargain :)
The tubes are part number 51410MR8003 which is for VFR400 japanese import according to DSS - my mistake.... :(
My VFR400 is a 1991 VFR400R3L UK model according to frame number and my question is if these can be made to fit my bike?
A few cm's up from the bottom of the tube there is a white "plastic" ring which make it impossible to fit the damper unit - can this be removed maybe?

It may be the difference between the early forks - with no external adjustment and a damper rod design and the later model forks with an external rebound aduster and a cartridge design.

The later model legs are - 51410-MR8-781

hope this helps
