battery access!!

hello all newbie here looking for advice,
picked up a nice rvf last week and got no workshop manual for it,could you please tell me how to get to the battery??is it the wire under the pillion seat to unlock the riders seat?if so is there a way around it as the wire on mine has snapped!had a nc24 many moons ago but cant quite recall the location on that either,age is a cruel cruel beast!!

yeah,remove the whole seat unit

the good old nc30 way,that's how to access the battery on the nc30 and it was a nightmare.

so you reckon tale the tail fairings of as a whole??would the seat unclip then?or would the seat hold it together?

On the NC30, it's the 6 screws (3 either side), lift up the back slightly unplug the rear light wiring, and lift off pulling slightly to the rear, all in one piece. I usually remove the pillion seat first, I think you have to as it's clipped to the sub frame.

ta guys for replies,thought thats what id have to do!!i dont suppose its that much of a hardship,just annoying that the cable was bust when i bought it,should of remembered to check it,live and learn and all that

No, no, no. That's how you do it on an NC30. An NC35 had 2 screws that holds the seat in place. At the rear of the seat, roll the pad forward a little to reveal a screw on either side and just undo those and you'll have access to the battery.

now while your under there, attach a piggy back lead for a optimate charger to make charging a doddle.
