radiator advice

Post by tygaDave »

While taking my NC30 to bits to do the valves it turned out the bottom rad was wrecked, im sure the top rad was doing all the work. the bikes all done now and just waiting for new rads and sadly it seems l missed the boat for the alloy rads from China that where being sold on here :( There seems to be 2 different companys selling the alloy rads on ebay, one is radiator warranty and the other is something like GPI racing!! they look the same and could likely be the same company, has anyone got any advice on them?? or does anyone know what company the rads that where sold on here came from?? Thanks

Are the NC30 and NC35 radiators the same?

I need a top radiator for my NC35 but NC30 spares are easier to find in South Africa

No not quite. for race use and aftermarket fairings, then yes you can use a 30 top rad on a 35 with some trimming of panels.

Next question, does the radiator need to have the curves in it? If I need to have one built up, can it be straight?

Depends on the size, obviously. I ran an RLR top rad that was straight along with a Rick Oliver bottom and it was fine.

Does anyone have some dimensions for what will fit the NC35?

If i do need to have a new one made up, then they will likely just use the length and height measurement of my old one but I don't think they will make it with the curve. I don't wanna end up spending money on something that doesn't fit.

SO today I took my top radiator to the guy that made my bottom radiator a few years ago and asked if it can be fixed... he said No but he can make me one but without the curve; he also needs the dimensions.

So, if the radiator is straight then I imagine it needs to be shorter?

Please, does anyone have dimensions for an aftermarket top radiator for a NC35.
