seems like a much easier route to just plug in a blue speedo converter to deristrict the bike :) i still havnt fitted my mph clock face ricky done me but tbh, iv got a blue converter too, be easier to just plug that in lol

I recall other people doing some testing a few years back and nothing was found ot be different. The Placebo effect asaide, I 'll be no-one could tell either way whether an SS box was fitted or not.
Also I read somewhere last night that someone thought that the SP unit was to stop retarding at high rev's in top gears??

It could indeed stop the retarding at High RPM / top gear.. some kind of manual / over-ride.. hence the spec's saying high-octane.
But again, without all the rest of the gubbins you wouldn't benefit from it.
It isn't a HRC SP unit with sticks I don't think


Wires are different colours for a start.. plus the sticker isn't raised where the HRC writing would be

The HRC is plastic too and Neo I think the later HRC ones didnt have the raised HRC bit like the earlier ones i.e looked like this:

These ones have different colour wires from the earlier ones. I think its one of these ones with a Bluefox sticker on it

Interesting.
Is that a genuine HRC box? It's odd for a Honda unit not to have Honda written on it (unless it's on the back?) Every SP unit i've ever seen has raised decals. (different part numbers? I don't have the HRC manual here to check)
And the wires are still different colors between all 3 boxes! (Not that it means a lot)
Probably all do the same thing anyway.

It doesn't say Honda or hrc anywhere but does have the hrc parts designation NKA stamped on the back

The HRC one i had was cast alloy! it was pretty heavy,
someone i knew also had one on theres that had road rash from a previous crash and exposed a lot of deep gouges in the alloy.
