Bike Accident - VFR400 VALUE ?
Hi, to keep this brief, a week ago when i was stationary at some red lights, a man ran up the back end of my VFr400, (nc30) R3? 1989, he did little damage i could see, number plate bracket/holder etc, he claimed he did not see me ???
anyway just wondered if there is anything internally i should worry about, and what the actual rough value of this bike is ? incase the insurance company right off etc etc ?
thanks for all help,
and MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! Butler

Right, I'm still going through the insurance for mine, similar, stopped at a junction with brake lights and indicator on, tw@ in a van didn't stop. Sounds like you had it better than me, mine is/was trashed from the main fram back.
The insurance valued mine at £1225-£1300, 1991 R3L, with all my parts declared (but not valued) I'm still arguing with mine to try and bump it up a bit so I can buy another. Best bet is to just let them do what they will, grab some adverts off ebay or bike trader, for similar bikes and see what they offer
Hope yours gets sorted faster than mine!

Re: Bike Accident - VFR400 VALUE ?
hopefully nothings wrong with it. he only ran into the back of my wheel, and sent me forward over the lines, the only damage visible was he smashed off a bit of my Number plate hanger,geoff33 wrote:Let me know if you want rid of it Adam
but im just wondering if any internal damage might of been done ???
Bike still runs like before and looks like before, the guy was really awkward, and wouldnt pay the £50 it was going to cost me to get a new part from Tyga-Performance and shipped from Thailand, so we've decided to get Insurance Co involved,
im getting a Honda Cbf600 Courtesy Bike on Saturday while my bike is away,, are they any good ? compared to the Vfr ?
So i just wondered what the value of a Vfr400 was roughly ???
i dont think itd be Wrote off etc, but if it was, id want ym TYga Fairings off of it, and Tyga rear sets and Koso Display etc etc etc, so thats why i wanted to know Value of it
Thanks for Support lol

A lot of the time the insurance company will write it off and let you keep the bike... ie a certain amount of money and the bike, but not always so if they do it's best to check what option they are going to do.
If they wan't the bike they'll usually send a van to your house to pick it up, so you'll have time to swap parts over.
Glad your ok.
And I like the 600's wait and see what you make of it :)

okay, the bike rides fine, and runs etc, no leaks etc, etc, but i know thats doesnt mean it isnt a write off, but we will see what happens,Neosophist wrote:A lot of the time the insurance company will write it off and let you keep the bike... ie a certain amount of money and the bike, but not always so if they do it's best to check what option they are going to do.

could i take my TYGA body kit off anf let them have the bike back ? or would i need to replace with Original Fairings i dont have ?
i look fwd to testing out this 600 Honda Tomorrow
I DO <3 my VFR though, dont care about size of engine etc, this bike fits me really well weight/size wise, im only a skinny 5'9 22 year old lol,
