Dyno thread.

Post by gpz900 »

I'm sure I remember someone saying they were going to start a thread for posting dyno graphs for NCs in various states of tune, to help other members troubleshoot and tune accordingly. Well, I searched I couldn't find one so consider it started. If there is one already, moderators, feel free to move this.

So, this is my bike, rescued from under a pile of leaves in someone's back garden, now cleaned, serviced, painted, and tuned by RB Racing in Sydney:
Full Yamamoto system
HRC air tray
160 mains

Dyno graph, nice clean 60hp

Good call. Can we make this a sticky?

Here is a graph from my 1990 'K' model Nc30.
All stock & unbutchered; airfilter, airbox, exhaust etc are standard unmodified items
The carbs have 115/118 RO supplied mains (I upped them from the original 110s) with standard float heights, standard & correct needles/tubes and 0.5mm washer under the needles.

The bike was too rich with sooty plugs & a big hole between 5-7000 rpm

Image

I have rejetted & the bike now runs much better & I will dyno again after the winter service 8-)

Stickied for 60 days to see if there is any interest.

Found a copy of Rick (porndoguk's dyno) i'm sure he'll be along to explain the jetting and the bike. I think it was on 118/120's with a yamamoto rear / tyga can when this was done.

Just got mine back yesterday. Need to order some carbs bits as we didn't have the needles or the exact jets:

Pretty happy with this! Be interested to see what it is like with the new needles, front mains and new accl. pump diaphragm.

Setup is:

Stock motor
FCR32's flatslides:
108 MJ Front
105 MJ Rear
180 MAJ
ETV needles clip in position 4
Full Tyga exhaust (330mm oval can)

Next thing to work on is the engine build...
