VFR400 Engine fit into a RVF400?

Post by dar5150 »

Hi, A cheap VFR400 Engine has come up for sale. Will it fit my RVF400? Plan on racing the RVF next year so taught the spare engine would come in handy. Cheers for any help.

In short, yes it will fit, but it needs other things like NC30 electrics and bits.

Cheers for that. Sounds like too much grief. Will just keep an eye out for a spare RVF engine. That guide to valve clearences is class by the way. Going to use it next week. Just a question, if the gaps are off where do you get the new shims any on-line shops? And is it ok to re-use the old gasket? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

All you really need to change is the starter clutch and pickup coil from the RVF engine and fit then into the VFR engine. It's not too much trouble in reality.

Thanks
