hi can anyone help me as im having trouble with my 1wd ,the bike starts ok but idles a bit arratit goes up to two and back .when you ride the bike it goes like a devil but when you throttle back and pull clutch in to stop at a junction or to turn of road to sidestreet it just stops ,its as if it is stalling ,ive had a new throttle cable made and fitted as it wae fraid, also replaced fuel pump, could it be a problem with carb setup, coming to stage where im pulling my hair out [not got much anyway]im not a mechanically minded person but enjoy it more if i can sort things out myself. my bike is a calafornia inport 1988 any advice will be really appreciated thanks john

welcome to the forum

sounds like the carbs need a good clean particularly the slow running/idle jets but you may as well clean the lot and check the seals and rubbers whilst your at it,
then give it another go and let us know ;)

I'd go with the idle jets being blocked so clean the carbs. It's a good idea to try and clean them anyway.
Have a look at the airbox and see if it's seating properly on the carbs, the rubbers get hard and then it won't fit on so the air leak causes the mixture to be weak.
