Tyga exhaust system?

Post by isca1987 »

I have just got a full tyga maggot exhaust system for my nc35, i'm very happy with it but loud is not the word it is crazy, I am sure the police will pull me at some point, what can they do you for? ie can they give me points or just a fine. Thanks

The tyga system costs £600 so I would like to keep it, if it's only a fine for having it I don't really care but if it's points than I think I will have to take it off.

Sell the maggot can and buy a quieter carbon can.

Anyone actually had any of the tyga cans noise tested? As in trackday not police. I like the look of the longest round ones, but I do like to make lots of noise. Equally, I'm drawn in by claims of the maggot being super-loud but don't like the look, at least not for an NC30.

the 330mm stainless one kicked out about 108dB at 8k RPM

i have the 450mm carbon which i will test in due course but ill guess its circa 100dB

trust me the noise does yours head in.

So the 450mm one is really pretty quiet then? I've heard of stock bikes putting out 98db at 6,000 revs. My R6 with an open stubby can is 106 at 6,000.

a stock system at a guess will be 90dB at 6k i doubt it would exceed that they are so quiet by comparison i have a dB meter might be a good idea to test a selection of VFRs RVFs etc to get a list of aprox values

the 450mm Oval Carbon can isnt what id call quiet its still loud and ill be sticking a baffle in at some point
