bike cut out help!

bike cut out help!

i was driving my bike and it suddenly just cut out on me pulled over to the side of the road and it would start of the starter button it would bump and only stay running for a few secondes then cut out any ideas?

Start simple.
Vacuum hose still attached and not split etc?


Sounds like fuel to me..

has petrol in it wouldnt start after and the battery went dead it may be the regulator

Was the battery already did or did you flatten it from attempted starting? Have you checked the vacuum pipe? On the right hand side of the bike, look through the hole in the rear cowling, opposite to the fuel tap hole, check the pipe is coming off the fuel tap (facing forwards on bike) isn't kinked, split and is connected. I had the same happen to me once and turned out my pipe had kinked

it started fine about 5 minuites into riding it just tottaly cut out on me pulled over tryed to start it just would do anythink then tryed to bump it it started but only for about 5 secs then cut out then would not bump at all

Something similar happened to me 3-4 times in the summer. I got a fuel hose from Rick Oliver for a fiver and it never happened again.

its making a noise coming from under the seat though, sound like its struggling to turn over so surley if it was to do with feul it wouldnt make the noise

Pull the seat and you will find the battery and other parts of the start/charging system. Might be a loose connection and the noise is the arcing contact.
