flasher unit

can anyone tell me if the flasher relay from an other yam fits 3tj...had five mins today so connected up the battery for first time everything works bar the flashers....can hear the relay click once.

was the battery fully charged? had a similar thing on mine to start with. try disconnecting the rears and trying again with just the fronts, i know it sounds stupid bit i did this on mine and they started working as soon as i did this and never had a problem since!

battery right off the charger.....but i will try this when i strip seat unit off...maybe give the unit a smack aswell.

Are the indicators bulb type ?
It sounds like they have to much or to little resistance to make the flasher unit flash, or the unit is dead. If you take the lenses off you can see the bulbs and with luck see their wattage. Compare this to the originals and you'll get an idea of how much yours will draw, if it's less they'll flash faster (I think it's that way round).

if it is the flasher unit that's gone
take the numbers down or the unit itself to a local bike parts dealer and just get a generic one, not expensive, between £5 & £10 and a 1/4 of Mr yams genuine spares price
