Hi speed judder

Post by ypm25 »

Got my licence friday has a good 500km ride this weekend, all good appart from the front end vibration when applying the brakes from high speed, say 130kmh +

I'm going to pull it appart and cheak it out but any pointers before I start would be good.

I'v already changed the head bearings, can only realy be wheel bearings, disks or fork bushes?

Thanks

I'd have thought wheel bearings if you don't get it at lower speeds.
Could be the wheel needs balancing and check the brake calipers are bolted up right

So.. changed the wheel bearings, and no really diffrence appart from some confidence. Its the disks, a good rideout sorted them out, the judder went away when used in anger which is good enough for me.

I have another set of disks so maybe I'l swap them over to see if it goes away compleatly. 8-)

Sounds more like contamination on the disks or the pad matterial not covering the whole disk. They sould be ok now.

:plus:

get some emery paper,(wet or dry) remove the calipers wath the pads and discs using break cleaner or thinners give the discs and pads a good sanding,be carefull not to remove meterial frome pads just clean the surface,
reasemble,it may do the trick.
