Which oil would you recommend for my 3EN1?
Just about to carry out first service during my ownership and keen to find out which oil you all recommend..It probably doesnt matter but interested to hear others input.
got the casings being shotblasted at the moment ready for paint then in with the new oil and filters.
Should I use Motul or Silkolene ? Any help is appreciated..
Cheers in advance, Tony

oil, is oil, is oil, you can tell the differences by the numbers on the bottle
ie API SL and ACEA A3./4. and various others
check out which numbers the Motul or Silkolene has then go look at some of the cheaper own brand stuff ie halfrouds tesco whatever, as long as the codes are the same it's the same sh*t only priced very differently
it's not like a pair of jeans no-one can see the label, as long as it does the same job, then it's job done
but you'll be fine with 10w/40 smi-synth
if you put fully synthetic in it your likely to get a lot of clutch slip

I use Asda own brand semi-synthetic 10/40 in my 4/6. Yes, it's a cheap car oil and no, my clutch doesn't slip

About 2.3 litres I think .... it's probably written on the clutch cover.
Use Motorcycle oil - car oil gets broken down faster due the gearbox cogs being smaller

Thanks for that, its surprising just how much price difference there can be in the brands Ive seen some around £25 and up to £50 which is mad.
I understand about the car oil thing, I work at a car dealership and a pal of mine tried to save a few quid by putting car oil in his fireblade and he said his clutch slipped like mad..
Oh kayla i need a jack up kit from you
cheers Tony
