Post by symon92 »

Hello, im new 8-)

Just passed my module 2 and have brought a fzr 400, not sure on what model.

Anway i no the japs limted the spped to 112mph. So i have brought a m-max and just wating for it to be deliverd.

I was just wondering how u fit them?
Do u have to cut the speedo wire in half then fit the box or just it just slip in at clock end?

Sorry for spelling i am dyslexic

Many thanks symon

there are a couple of versions i've come across, one goes up under the seat and fits into the loom using oem plugs but does require a bit of cutting from what i can make out from the translated destructions! these dont seem very common though.
the other fits into the loom via direct plug in up behind the clocks. it basically removes the signal from the clocks and replaces it with it's own to fool the cdi so you dont need to cut anything.
get a pic up and we'll see what model it is! look at the frame no. and let us know if it starts 1wg or 3tj!
narrows it down a bit!

It's probably the one that plugs in behind the clocks.

If you'd have used a kmh > mph converter you wouldn't need the M-Max box.

an electronic convertor won't work on the fzr, they use mechanical speedo drives you need the gold one that fits down by the wheel on the end of the speedo cable.
