Boiling Battery
I recent boiled the battery after charging it on the wrong setting. I have now got a new battery and the bike will not start. I get a clicking sound, I have charged the battery and did bump start it and had it running. Does any know if I have blown fuses elsewhere on the bike or melted more expensive parts/ wires?
It ran fine for about 20 mins, then switched it off after a short ride. then tried to restart and done get a clicking sound but a 'whining' sound now.
Can anyone offer sound advice?
thankyou
- Just tried to start bike, ' whining' now sounds like start motor is trying to turn..
It runs fine, (from a bump start) just did 20 miles. But it does not restart, charge etc in battery, sounds like starter motor seized or jammed. Is this possible from overheating battery.

Re: Boiling Battery
The clicking would be the starter relay and may be cause by the starter sticking, if the starter is bad this cause a old iffy battery to pack in.
I would have a good look at the starter and make suer the earth that fastens to it is ok.

Re: Boiling Battery
Thanks, it does seem that it is sticking. There is a new batt, and ample power, i think it does sometimes does try to turn, but can't. Is there any othe fuses, releys etc I should check before buying a new motor? Any ideas of where I could get one if that is the issue.
Thanks again for your help..

Re: Boiling Battery
If the fuse had gone it would do nothing so i'd take a good look at the stater motor.
