Cost of building a top spec race bike,
Probably should not have done this but here goes, had a rough work out of the cost to build my main race bike from scratch,,,,,,,,,,its not pretty.
Bike £1500
Suspension £850
Exhaust system £600
Airbox £300
Carb mods £100
Electrics (q-shift CDI loom ect) £550
Body kit £220
Discs £200
Clip-ond £150
Clocks £175
Rearsets £125
Fr Rr alloy frames £125
Engine £1500 ish
Add £500 ish for alloy bolts, odds/sods and little trick bits
Total £6895 give or take
then add tyres, consumables, crash damage ect ect year after year and all the mountains of stuff like gearing, spares, racing kit ect ect ect. Oh and a spare bike with another set of gearing bla bla bla
engine refresh every year (if not twice) dyno time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Must be f*cking mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup and what makes it worst is when you see a race winning top spec bike for sale at half the price or less!

It is mad, i wish money was no object, i would have spent twice as much!!!

I once spent about £1800 on the carbs, pipe, ignition etc for a Honda CR250 motor, Then stuck in in a Cagiva Mito chassis!.......
Pissing past top spec RS125's up Snetterton straight made them do a double take thought.
