Speed to rpm?

Post by chris_psmith »

Quick question, my bike shows 6000rpm at 100kph in 6th gear, is this about right?

Ta, used to my TL1000 twin and this sounds ready to explode to the stage i was doubting the rev counter, then again 12000rpm is a lot.....

That's bang on with the stock sprockets.
I used to use that formula to check I was in sixth if I lost count. 6th gear, 60mph, 6kRPM.
Seems to be a 100:1 ratio of revs to MPH in sixth, not sure if that's true across the scale, certainly not at low RPM.
