GK76A running woes
Mate has bought a 1991 GK76A which suffers the folowing problem:-
bike starts and idles OK and revs cleanly whilst in neutral.
will run through the gears for a couple of hundred yards, then cuts out and when it's re-started it revs at around 1000, even with the throttle wide-open! Activating the choke in this condition has no effect whatsoever.
If the bike is left for a couple of minutes, it restarts and goes back to idling and revving OK again.
We have swapped the CDI for a known good unit off my bike (also a 1991, but the CDI's are different?), exhaust silencer (suspected it had collapsed internally), checked fuel supply to carbs and checked the airfilter and housing and all OK - is it a symptom of the dreaded carb disease?
Forgot to mention that we checked the fuel tank breather too, and thats OK as well.

Are you 100% on the breather cause it sounds like starvation.

100% certain as we ran it with the filler cap open and it did the same.
