Re: Fzr400
yes the earlier bikes are all 1WG upto the 3TJ .... all the engines are stamped with 1WG (even 3TJ's) there's no other engine numbers.
The full model is
FZR400R 3EN1 Exup 1WG ... or something like that, it's the longest model designation in biking.

Re: Fzr400
What do you mean by the fairing brace ? do you mean the cage that holds the clocks or the brace from the mirrors to the fram in front of the tank ???

Re: Fzr400
don't chuck a load of money at it,
fix her up into a sensible road/MOT condition,
and as everyone has said ride the thing, get some sensible experience road riding, hell take it on a track day or 2 if you really wanna, but don't spend a fortune on it
if you decide later on that the FZR4 is the way (and you surely will) then chop it in, put some more dosh with it and buy the best bike you can for your money, you'll save a fortune in the long run
ps
don't know how i missed this thread,
but a knickerless kayla

Re: Fzr400
It was a figure of speech

Anyhoo, if you want a 3TJ, buy a 3TJ but don't spend any money at all trying to make a 1WG look like a 3TJ, it's not worth it and it'll never be a 3TJ (which isn't a bad thing, by the way 1WGs are brill). A nice early 400, yesterday-

I have no idea if that's a YZF400 or not, but it's gorgeous and I want one.
Now, if you wanted sort the bike and make it go instead of show that's another thing entirely
