GK73 Generator removal

Hi folks

I'm trying to get the generator coils off a mates GK73 and the sodding thing wont budge. I've undone the centre bolt and cant see anything else holding the flywheel?? on?!!
Any tips? What am i missing?

you need a puller.
without a puller you will break magnets for sure

i have tried a three leg puller but cant get it in anywhere with enough purchase to grip the bugger!!
Is there a specific tool for the job?

Hey,
You need a flat plate puller with three bolts that screw into the flywheel then you tighten a centre bolt on the end of the crank to release the flywheel(place the retaining bolt back in so far and press on that if you`re worried about damaging the end of the crank). A hot air gun will help but if the flywheel has not been off in a while they can be a real b*stard to shift (airgun works).Removed mine last week and ruined a perfectly good puller and spent four hours doing it!!

Would have lent ya mine but some twat offa here never sent it me back. Make one from some 10mm plate and a peice of tube for a handle, cost a couple of quid!

No Worries thanks Chris. I bought one yesterday that looks identical to the one Mike shows in the link so fingers crossed that'll work when it arrives!!
