Does anyone know where i can get jet kits for my gk76a?
I rang my local dyno center and they didn't seem interested in helping me out.

Factory-pro,expensive but good. Dont know if `dynojet` do a kit but to be honest i`ve always found them to be inferior to the factory-pro stuff(just my opinion!)

Re: Jet kits ect
your not going to find a jet kit to suit your engine!
You have a non standard engine and using a K&N.
The bike is for race use so your not looking for a compromise on low down power.
In your situation now is where you will find out if a dyno centre on engine builder is worth his salt.
If your engine builder knows his schizz then he will of advised you where to start your jetting and listed everything he has done.
piston weights. piston to valve clearances. inlet and exhaust timing and overlap, lift etc.
How much has been removed from the head. Compression ratio and chamber volume etc.
SHALL I GO ON???
Seeing as your engine builder does car engines and not bikes normally i would say he hasn't a clue of the effects he has had on the jetting.
Nearest place to you that can set your bike up is in Ringwood but it will cost you!
There are two places that i use if i'm desperate and one where i borrow a dyno.
But those are too far away from you.

Re: Jet kits ect
By the way most dyno places won't touch carbs as all they know is power commanders and preloaded programs.
Alot tweak the correction to make the graphs over read.
Saying that if you get a good operator who knows carbs your laughing, But they aren't cheap.
Question is if you don't pay the money whats an engine rebuild going to cost you after your first time out without correct fueling?

Re: Jet kits ect
Dynomite did my carbs on my old road bike, So naturally i thought ill use them again. Like you said, they prefer the modern bikes where they do it all on computer. I rang another dyno center in Bournemouth, i explained to them about the other garage and them wanting to use a "Dynojet jet kit". This other garage explained to me that is not going to be cheap as they will be swapping mains, pilots ect after each run.stripes1976 wrote:By the way most dyno places won't touch carbs as all they know is power commanders and preloaded programs.

Re: Jet kits ect
jet kits are a big myth armi.
tune a bike to a main jet first.
then work the way down the throttle opening after sorting full throttle.
any tuner who says swapping mains and pilots together i wouldn't touch.
First thing i would do if i was you Rich. is check your float heights.
swap the float bowl screws for allen bolts so the jets can be swapped in situ
and it will save you shed loads on labour at the dyno.
Also make sure the jets come out easily without disturbing the o ring.
use a spanner to hold and screw driver to loosen the jets
