Best brake pads?

Post by studlow43 »

Would appreciate your opinions on which brake pads are best for the GK76A model?

I'm a big fan of EBC and always have been but just wondered what other brands are worth looking at? I'm looking to fit braided lines and thought fitting new pads would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Is the GOLDfren stuff any good? Kyoto?

Sure the HH/Sintered stuff is best but i'm all ears guys! Thanks

Hi, If its for track then most of the rgv guys use the carbone-lorraine C55's (same fit) but they are VERY expensive, ive got the HHH Vesrah also expensive but cheaper than CL, they are great and dont squeal like the ebc's.
On the road i dont thing you will notice much if any difference between different HH pads and the full race may feel wooden because you carnt get enough heat in to them.
It seems you get what ya pay for.

Thanks Variablevalves  , yeah they're just for road use. I'm finding the lever has far to much travel which i dont like, so with new hoses and some decent HH pads it should be more than adequate for the job.

Would that not be resolved by uprating the master cylinder?

Have any of you guys changed it....and if so what did you replace it with???

goldfen and kyoto are bobbins.

I've used Nissin pads and they are great (in my NC30) EBC are middle of the road IMO.
