Hello all!
I have bought NC30 swingarm and wheels and I want to install them into my CB-1.

There are 2 problems with swingarm installation.
1. Swinning axle case is longer than stock for about 5 mm and I dont know about axle displacement. (For example, axle displacement of CBR400 NC29 swingarm is 1 mm right concerning to stock swingarm, and what's about NC30 swingarm?)
2. Damper connection.

Maybe anybody have already done this mod, or knows the dimentions of nessesary spacers and plates?

You would be better to start with the Honda NTV400 or 650 swingarm (Bros in Japan or Hawk in USA) as it uses a direct linked shock. Single arms are heavy, flexy, and put excess strain on the frame.

Look nice, though ;)

Just line it all up, measure twice and cut once, and remember to do the mods to the swingarm so if it doesn't work out you can go back to standard. In the worst case just do what I did, it's not toooo ugly.

Amorti, maybe it would be better to use Bros swingarm, but:
1. I like VFR wheels more than bros ones.
2. Progressive suspension is a cool thing.

About lining - I think I can do this in my garage using a long narrow plate fixed on a sprocket flange and calculate dimentions of new spacers, but maybe somebody have already done this with more accurate methods?

PS Do you see the engine?

It's a 600, isn't it? Good man! Remember to brace that frame strongly.

Time to fit the 92-98 Fireblade rear hangers, too. They just look better and allow a full-size exhaust can to be hung a safe distance from the road.

Yes, it's PC23E. I have also a Dynojet Stage 2 kit and want to use a CB-1 ignitor because of more advanced curve.
About frame - I dont want to do anythig with it. Remember the Hornet frame - and it works!
And the most interesting fact - I determineg the type of steel. It is a Steel 0 in russian standarts. (almost clear iron with 0.03% of carbon). I think that the Hornet frame is made of the same steel. AND IT WORKS!!! So I am assured that CB-1 frame will work good even with 600 engine.

About exhaust - I will use modified CB-1 pipes (flanges and pipe diameter is equal to 600) an end can will be modified can from YZ450 '07

Just be careful - a lot of high mileage CB-1s are cracking around the top engine mounts. You will have to do some work anyway, would be worth reinforcing this area if it's possible to do that and still fit carbs in.

Here's 2 pics of my bike to show how 'blade rear footrests allow the can to fit higher. Speedfreak had a crash on his CB-1 as he grounded out the ART can he fitted under standard footrests.

Hehe! My CB-1 has no frame cracks and it have 27000 km on odometer. When I opened it's engine, the condition of cylinders and pistons were exellent! Pistons had even unerased traces of machinering!
And why I should have to reinforce this area? There are 2 purpendicular tubes around there!
AND I leave stock triangular plates!

You can see a welded and machined plane. I will mount engine into frame, mount triangular plates, drill holes and cut groove M10x1.25.
If you have doubt about warpage after welding - I have meashured warpage. It was maximum 0.04 mm and service limit is 0.1 mm. I found a welder with twenty years' experience and Selco 200 Genesis apparatus.
