How do i split engine casings?

How do i split engine casings?

managed to get everything off that i can, now attempting to split the casing in half, but only tools i have are a club hammer, claw hammer and a rubber mallet.

any suggestions? as ive managed to knock bits off the top half all ready :down:

If your taking about the cylinder head there is a 6mm bolt under the bit that sticks out for the cam chain,

managed to get those all off, the casing im referring to is the 2 for the engine, where the crankshaft and gears are , sorry for any confusion

Should come with a gentle tap with the rubber mallet, Have you removed the flywheel? the pick up trigger can be left on the crank but the flywheel must be removed as these a small ally piece that the genny sits on that must be removed.

Plus the generator coils are bolted to both halves of the cases. There are about 63 bolts that hold those cases together. Double check that you found them all. The cases should split without a great deal of force.

thanks for this, just found 2 hex bolts in oil filter housing, removed these and taadaa.....
