Re: My big plan for my NC29!
the bracket of the steering damper is made of a flat steel. somehow i am little bit upset to the mechanic who made the bracket because it didn't met my taste to what i have expect. though, it works preety well. the level and alignment came on the right position. but i wish the guy used the original braket and machined to cut some portion to look nice. but ill change it in the future.
i think parus was able to fit the original braket, just pm him.
i was able to saw once on the fireblade forum, a verrrrrrrryyyy georgous rotors. forgot the name....still looking for it again. but if i only knew that those rotors exists, i would probably not pick the Galfer rotors.
i'll post it when i got the name of the rotors....

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
Oh wow, that ones are really the fucking nicest rotors i´ve ever seen! Next question: available for an NC29 without much trouble?
My biggest problem is not to build something onto my bike but to get the O.K. from the german technical control board. God damned i hate this fags with there regulations about things witch are "to noisy" or "have no permisson for germany"
So garyboy why do you think the ones from Brake Tech are not as good as the ones from Galfer?
If anybody here is interested, here is the mail from Jeff from Brake Tech where he shows the details of the rotors:
Thank you for the inquiry Christoph.
We do not have dimensional specifications for the NC29, so will provide you with the dimensions of our BTH-29 series race rotors which fit other CBR400RR models:
298mm x 5mm
* Total Offset = 17.15mm
* I/D = 58mm
* Mounting Hole PCD = 74mm
* Mounting Hole Pattern = 6mm x 6 places
The following details this offering:
The patented advanced floating system of the AXIS™ series full-floaters is many times stronger than conventional semi-floating brake rotors. The heart of this patented design has the floater buttons controlling radial and axial float only, they are non-load bearing. All of the considerable braking forces are channeled through the trademarked Direct-Link™ architecture comprising over an 800% increase in surface area load transfer as compared to conventional floating brake rotors...simply a far superior design!
We offer them in both our traditional [round] race-spec Ductile Iron as well as the stainless steel AXIS/Cobra series which is an optimized petal style with none of the downside problems associated with the "wave" type rotors. Iron provides a higher coefficient of friction over stainless. But get them wet - they're going to rust. If however optimal performance is your goal, with incredible feedback and modulation at the lever for complete control whilst trail braking into the heart of an apex is the object you're seeking - then our 100% billet Ductile iron race-spec floaters is your best bet.
Plus we are the first major brake rotor manufacturer to employ hi-tech Cryogenic processing on the entire line of performance rotors as a standard operational component of manufacture. The inclusion of this advanced technology in a 40 hour computer controlled, LNV (Liquid Nitrogen Vapor system) deep freezing treatment provides greater thermal stability along with improved wear resistance.
AXIS RACE ROTORS, Conventional Materials
• BTH-29.L & R: AXIS/Iron @ 298mm x 5mm, $349.95 each
• BTH-29.SL & SR: AXIS/Cobra stainless steel @ 298mm x 5mm, $329.95 ea.
AXIS/CMC RACE ROTORS
• BTCH-29.L & R: AXIS/CMC Ceramic Matrix Composite, 298mm x 5mm, $1600.00 each
In the simplest of terms, think of the new generation AXIS/CMC™ ceramic rotors in this way - anything Carbon/carbon brakes can do, Ceramic Matrix Composite does better: they're lighter, lasts many times longer, perform flawlessly when stone-cold, brilliant in the wet (C/c cannot be run in wet), works with OE calipers and the race-spec Billet GP type, brake pads are relatively inexpensive and all for much less money! Their incredible light-weight and high performance parameters make them ideal for both top level racing and club events as well.
When considering the purchase of this advanced technology system, bear in mind, it's not simply a braking improvement, but at a whopping 65% [average] weight reduction, it's a genuinely substantial handling improvement as well! The reduction in gyroscopic forces is nothing short of amazing!!!
However, please be advised, the CMC outer blades are a very limited production item at this time, so availability is relatively low.
So I hope that gives everybody enough knowledge about the rotors. Please note that i don´t make promotion for that rotors, but I like the parameters and the desgin. And I want the best for my bike!
Oh and rolando: The rotors on the picture are named "Revolution". Search google pictures for "revolution front rotors". But to buy where i can´t tell you! but hope I could help a little bit!

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
.
some guys around here have their braking system upgraded like using wave rotors or stock rotors, changing the master cyclinder to brembo, using synthered pads, stainless lines, brembo calipers, etc.....and are happy enough to what they got. mine have a very good front braking system and i feel i can do endo with it. braking with one or two fingers is very easy.
if i had plenty of money, i might buy those ceramic brakes. based on the specs, they might sounds good. I cant say they're better than wave rotors, but MotoGP used these stuff and not "wave" rotors. hahahaha! so these must be good.
sorry not really interested with these ceramic rotors, im more interested with the other wave rotors i found. by the way, if ill found where to buy them, i'll not tell you too!! hahaha!!!

Uhhhh you bad bad guy, i´m will cry for that the next to weeks! No seriusly If you find them than much fun with them! I´ll take the Brake Tech ones. Even Team Durbhan Hamburg sells them and they build up really sick bikes and know about what they do (talking about tracktion control on an cbr 600 rr witch just weight 140 kg and other really sick shit!).
Today i´ve got mail from TTS-Performance about the pistons and other stuff to. I´ll keep you quys up to date tomorrow!

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
Why don't you go for a new front end totally, RVF perhaps or something like ZX6 with radial calipers.
Don't put mounting plates on they look a bit wank and if it's braking performance there is nothing wrong with the standard ones once they have been overhauled, all you are really doing is putting more unsprung weight on the bike.

yup good point, why not changing the front end. is ZX6 front end is also a straight swap to NC29?

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
Hello again guys,
so it´s starts slowly but it starts. 14 days ago i´ve got the fairing from Tyga-Performance. looks really nice. But since now i´ve had now time to fit on my bike.
Also my Koso RX2 Digital arrives. One look onto the installation guide was a little shock, cause some cables for rpm picup should be wrapped around the spark plug. Haha, very funny KOSO. That guys never had seen this deep black holes were we use to install our spark plugs i guess.
The SS race headers from GFRacing are on it´s way to me and should arrive on april,20th.
At this point a big THANKS to Graeme France for much help and advices.
The programmable HRC ECU and the replica ram air box is planned to now. But have to talk to my wallet
The change of front end sounds interessting but I wan´t to keep the original one and just optimize it. Got advice from Graeme to took RACE TECH linear fork springs in it and some other stuff to. I quess this is the way i will go.
Since I´ve been registerd here there comes so much more points on my list. I like it, my wallet hate It. But which hobby is cheap?
So the next plans for my NC29 are:
- change the compression ratio so 100 or 102 octance fuel gets necessary for the engine. Graeme told me that this is not an easy job because of the timing wheels. I know i need variable cams and have to change the drive gears of the hole valve control train.
-I´ve also read the thread from greggo who tuned up his gear with the input rod from an nc30 and the first 3 gears from an nc30, I guess I have to talk to him cause I wan´t to go the same way.
So guys can anybody give me a real guideance for the compression ratio change to 100 or 102 octane fuel?
I know that much things got to change and maybe this will be my project after this summer but I really wan´t to build myself up an race engine witch is optimized in every possibilty. And I can´t email GF for every little question i got!
I hope my 444ccm pistons are on there way. I´m not shure if I now will disassamble the engine cause I don´t know how much work it will take to tune it up! Don´t wanna miss my rideouts in summer cause my engine isn´t done!
So if anybody is interessted i upload some pictures from the fairing and the KOSO RX2 but i guess we all have see that stuff on the web?

Don't underestimate the KOSO, they were even used to BIMOTA DB7Crazy_German wrote:Hello again guys,

All sounds interesting and expensive - might I suggest some crash protection of sorts as you've already said you've crashed twice? lol
