My big plan for my NC29!
Hey Ladies and Gentleman, so I´ve introduced myself in the thread. Now everybody should know why I am here.
I´ve got a big plan for my baby! My bike is an CBR 400 RR NC 29 that comes from austria to the preowner and from the preowner to me!
I bought her in totally original condition, not even other mirrors, turn signals or an other silencer was build on, perfect for somebody how wan´t to make somethin special!
now here is what I have planed and everything should be done bevore summer:
- Standard fairing is all rubbish after i hit the ground twice, I´ve allready ordered an complete bodykit from TYGA-performace but an race type one. the planned color is black metallic with stickers in satin gunmetal grey with thin red edges. the stickers would all be in the desgin from the cbr 1000 rr from 2004 or something. some small sponsoring Stickers are planed to.
- For frontlight i´m going to build in an "single eyed" xenon HID frontlight. I know I have to cut in the new fairing, but no risk no fun!
- the bike would not have an standart taillight. I´m going to close the hole for the backlight with
fibreglass-plastic (???). Ther is an german manufactor witch build small turn signals that have brake and backlight and turn all in one small case.
- Koso RX2 speedometer will be installed, for that and the Xenon light i have to build myelf an special bracket.
- geargauge witch takes the signal from the gear linkage and not from the gearbox and engine rpm will be installed!
- stainless steel exhaust from delkevic is planned. (comes from ebay. knows anybody that one?)
- Handlebar will come from Gilles Tooling.
- rearsets will also come frome Gilles Tooling (thats going to be tricky because they would not fit right out of the box. If anybody could help with information about other hondas witch good nearly the same rearsets thats would be great )
- Levers will come from Pazzoracing, maybe I take other lever-brackets to fit them on my bike!
- MRA black coated racingscreen will be installed.
- an new highend supsension from WILBERS will be installed in the front and in the back.
- Samco silicone hoses will be installed (i´m not shure if I take ice white or standart blue)
- The engine is allreay tuned with an stage 1 Dynojet kit. an big bore kit from JE Pistons is also planed. It will bring 444 cc to the engine. All bearings will be replaced with stronger ones!
- Brake Discs will maybe come from Brake Tech, that are the best ones. Or the ones from Armstrong (are thats good ones?)
- Brake lines come all new in stainless steel.
- A new chain from enuma in red color will be installed to.
So i guess thats are the big changes but pictures would say more than thousand words. When it comes to the first rollout I will send you pictures from the beautyfull beast! but for now i´ve attached some few links where you can have a look on to the planned parts:
Turn signals: https://www.polo-motorrad.de/media/cata ... 36cf_2.jpg
Footpegs: https://www.polo-motorrad.de/media/cata ... dbaa_3.jpg
Handlebar: http://www.thurn-motorsport.de/61-LVB657.jpg
Levers: http://www.lothar-spiegler.de/images/pa ... uebild.jpg
Rear Suspension:http://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdImag ... %20007.jpg (the spring could be colored in nearley every tone i want! just look on the homepage: http://www.wilbers.de/de/farben.php
So if anybody has questions or good adviceses just write it here. when i found out how i can upload pictures here i could maybe show you even more parts and stuff.
best regards 400´s

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
this project smells very interesting
with regards to the Tyga's front cowl with headlight, i was thinking the same thing like yours. but instead of one, ill be installing 2 projector headlamps. i was able to order already from redracingparts.com these 55w projector headlights but i have to find a 35watts bulb.
with regards to the rearset, you have to make a template for you to comfortably position the rearset. the angle of the two rearset bolt holes of the NC29 is different from the other available good rearset around. what i mean is, you might get them fit, but they might not comfortable to step on. they might be higher or lower than the standard NC29 pegs.

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
Yes i know about that problem with the rearsets. but I guess with an little custom made aluminium bracket it could fit to the frame points. and I guess I don´t have to put the rearset higher or lower or more to the front or to the back but a little bit more outer the frame. make yourself a picture of an special spacer witch and not an adapter!
The bigger problem is the linkage of the rear brake piston. i don´t think that I could craft an bracket to fit an part with gets linked to an brake pedal. It´s because theres movement between the two screwpoints for the brake cylinder and the pivot of the piston. I guess another brake cylinder witch comes from an machine the witch the rearset is made for will fix It if nothing else works!
Can anybody tell about the Delkevic stainless exhaust system on ebay?
I´ve had a second look on the specs for the brake discs in the front and it seems that they would fit the NC 29 perfectly, here are the specs:
298mm x 5mm
* Total Offset = 17.15mm
* I/D = 58mm
* Mounting Hole PCD = 74mm
* Mounting Hole Pattern = 6mm x 6 places
here is a picture example for the front ones : http://www.braketech.com/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=97
Basicly it would be great to here more answers about my Big Plan, has anybody knowlede about the big bore kit? Its available at http://www.tts-performance.com/catalog/ ... cts_id=467
so tell me about every thing you think here, good adviceces will help me put an hell-of-a-bike (is that right written?) on the german streets!

Older Delkevic downpipes were not good, but the current ones look a lot better.

What Wozza said but unless your standard system in fucked I wouldn't bother the systems you are looking at are not an upgrade but a replacement, if you actually want a performance upgrade you need to speak to Graeme France on here or wait until a Beet system or similar comes up for grabs.

Re: My big plan for my NC29!
Hey tanuki, no my standart system is in good condition but stainless steel is always the better way i quess. It´s more lightweight and it you don´t have any problems with rust. and it looks better I quess.
Only the fact that it should be more lightweight then the original downpipes should be enough for a bike because of the power-weight ratio!
I´ve searched the board for Graeme France but couldn´t find him! Can anybody help out?
Has anybody knowledge about the Brake Tech rotors and about the ones from Galfer or Armstrong?
I´ve also have seen an video on Youtube from a guy namend rolandorivera1 witch has Brembo calipers in the front mounted. i asked where I can get them but still got no answer!
So next question: what about that JE pistons 444cc Kit? Its no problem for me to overhaul an Engine, I myself am an engine machanic, okay for way bigger engines (Caterpillar). But an engine is an engine no matter if 0.4 liters or 72 liters^^! But there are questions about the quality and what does it bring to the horespower and the torque?

I am rolandorivera1

Go for Galfer wave rotors, their best on my present front braking system.
the adapters i used came from a 600 race bike (including the brembo calipers) but my mechanic and I made a modification to the adapters since they wont fit originally.
I think Parus was able to get some adapters for Brembo, just ask him. Or better ask Graeme if he had these adapters.

Your are that guy? Great, I quess the hole world of 400 drivers is here on this site here?
So rolando than can you tell me details about that matrix steering damper you installed? The bracket you build locks good in the video but whats about the bracket thats hold the damper on the steering side? Is that an part witch fits right out of the box?
Thanks about the info of the brembo calipers. but that won´t work in germany! The german "TÜV" never will give me an okay on some unknown brackets an calipers witch are not made for my bike!
I think on the first look i would prefer the Brake Tech rotors because of the technical desgin. If anybody is interested i´ll copy the email from jeff from brake tech here into!
