Got Nuthin
I have been rebuilding my 91 bandit. Took it all the way down to the frame and am now in the process of putting it all back together.
After installing the wiring harness front to rear, I wanted to check out my work. Got lights: breaks, guages, turn signals, seems to have power, but there is nothing for starting. Everything is hooked up as it came apart, key is on, clutch engaged, but nothing happens when you hit start button. The only thing not connected is the headlight.
The only wire at the front connecting the start switch that has any power to it is the Orange w/ green trace? Im stumped...any help?

Re: Got Nuthin
Do you have a neutral light? Check the wire. My NC30 wouldn't start and I found this wire loose at the side of the engine. Same symptoms as yours; everything worked but wouldn't start

Re: Got Nuthin
Im sure you should have 12v on the red wire to the ignition switch, this comes from the main fuse so check fuse as the lights have ther own circuit.

Oddly enough, while messing with the horn which has decided to stop working as well, I heard a pop and thought I blew a fuse, when I opened the fuse panel, sure enough, I did. Also found that a 10 amp fuse was missing as well. PO must have been getting creative with the wiring. I hope when I get a couple new 10 amp fuses it will fix it. It will be tomorrow before I get them, let ya know what happens.Variablevalves suck wrote:Im sure you should have 12v on the red wire to the ignition switch, this comes from the main fuse so check fuse as the lights have ther own circuit.

Skunked again! Replaced all fuses, and have them in the proper order now too. Got neutral, high low, temp, and brake lights but nothing else. Bike is in neutral, kickstand is up.
Is it possible that the battery is just that dead? What does a digital igniter do, could it be that?

Its not the battery, I just replaced the bandit battery with my BMW battery and still nothing.

Good Catch, bypassed the clutch switch and cleaned the contact on the starter motor, Not sure which one did it but it tried to turn the motor. Battery is shit, but you can hear it trying. Thanks.
