Newbie in need of help!

Post by Carcass »

Hi all i recently bought a vfr 400R nc24 as a big project, the rear disc was cracked so i bought a replacement disc.
When i went to fit it, i found i could not remove the rear hub {after removing the 36mm nut and sprocket carrier} to get to the brake disc :cry:
If anyone could give some info on how to remove it {and what im doing wrong} that would be great.
Cheers Chris

Silly point perhaps, but... have you taken the wheel off?

Sometimes they need a good whack as they tend to stick after time.

I'll guess a circlip on the wheel side preventing you taking it off.

not got a 24 but am sure someone will be out soon to let you know

I don't think there is one, Here are some photos of how far I've got {see links} When i went to buy another disc {someone was breaking a bike} he took the giant cir clip off and the whole bearing holder {I think that's what its called} came out and he still couldn't get the hub out {or the disc over the bearing holder}

Have you any from the disc side? If that splined bit has been pulled through slightly I guess that a ciurclip on the back side is stopping it coming through? Have you

Looks like the disc can undo anyways? Is access that bad?

hmm...a good one this matey :?

click on the link above for the microfish of the nc24 mate. It helps see what way the parts go together.
