On my standard RVF shock the adjuster nuts do NOT come off. It is my understanding it is not rebuildable. I looked at it and the only thing I could think of was to grind off (or partially grind off) the "lugs" so that the rings would come off and you could change the spring. This is the first time I have seen something like this on ANY shock. They are gas charged also, so if you took it apart and release the gas you would have to figure out a way of either re-charging the gas or convert to an oil type system with external resevoir. Would have to drill and thread in a nipple or something?????????? Don't know?

I got a faulkner weighted Race spring for about £24 delivered.

For that kind of money you have a fresh spring to suit your weight, I can help you out a bit n guaging the needed weight if you like?
