you know when you said "the back firing its just because your not having enough air into the mixture" is that because my carbs were set running to Rich ? how come i wasnt getting enough air ? i thought the back firing was because my Plug was breaking down ??? because it was covered in fuel ???
do a search for the K&N i did a fair bit of reasearch and a howto fit guide for one as we couldnt find a nice fitting filter, i have one fitted but been doing a major overhaul this winter if you check out the members bikes and rides section.

back firing can be down to many things but usually fuel related, if it was running rich it would mean there is too much fuel going in the the engine, and some of it it exiting unburnt, you need to have the mixture of air and fuel spot on,

you are running a full tyga exhaust and i would imagine the guy before posible cracked in some 120s without knowing what he was doing, maybe turned the pilot screws out wrong and maybe a few other variables have caused it.

118 front and 120 is what i run and its rich, but now the K&N is in it will either sort the problem or send it lean, but im prepared with 122.5's and 125 jets for when i visit the dyno man ;)

check the jets, check the gasket, check the plugs then come back and see us.
also call the dyno man, and get answers to befores and afters.

I will try my hardest to find out the info on the JET sizes and float height etc,

are you sure he would remember ??? Lol ;) or might forget?

i dont know if this helps, but the bike from IDLE revs very nicely now, once warmed up will rev from 0- whatever nice and quickly and loud :D as before it would not rev past 5k then stutter then rev a lil etc,

maybe i was just not used to a propa set up VFR,

btw he was telling me somethign about a needle how it might not of been changed fr 20 years, and was worn and letting more fuel through ? does this make sense to anybody ? so now its replaced it might not let through so much fuel and run rich ???

thanks again and again

the only needles you need to worry about are the dirty smack ones this tuner sounds like hes using!

needles hardly if never wear in these, my bikes 22yrs old now and still on the same needles

and hes should remember the jet sizes if hes changed them to find the ones to out in.

the jets look like this

Image

and there about 5mm dia in size thats a 140 main jet, youd be intoruble if you saw one of them in a unmodified nc30!

Hi people, just been out on my baby

just wondering, should the bike sound much different ? i can maybe feel them extra 3 ponies. but sounds completely different ???? it sounds alot deeper when midrange through the revs and seems to pull better : ;)

could this be because the Carbs are set up properly ?or because we removed the SNORKEL off of the Air Flter ?

also it did a small back fire when i accelerated hard then let off of the throttle, but nothing compared to the other week.

thanks Again Adam
