Hello mate,
Remove seat/battery/rear of the airbox and filter. Remove the steel clips on the airbox holding the rubbers between the airbox and carbs, loosen the screws holding the rubbers to the back of the carbs and pull the rubbers through the inside of the airbox and put to one side...you are then free to undo the inlet retaining clips and remove the carbs out the side of the bike. Only after you`ve removed the choke/throttle cable` and unplugged the TPS lead...

As for running only on choke sounds strange(airleak possibly?),Is there a lot of smoke ie black(unburnt fuel),How long is it since they were last stripped/serviced? How old are the plugs? Are the leads all good with a nice fat spark at each plug? Chances are the `o` rings will be past their best so will need replacing (forum member variable valves will sort that for you),good luck, let us know how you go

Hey,
Did you sort that 76 out or are you still having trouble with it?
