Alternator Removal
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how to get the alternator hub off the crank?, Any techniques or special tools I will need.
Its packed up and I need it off to swap for the other I brought.
Can take a pic if ya not sure what I'm on about.

Re: Alternator Removal
Hi mate,
If you are removing the flywheel there are three threaded holes that you screw a three way puller into, i made my own from some 10mm steel.

Re: Alternator Removal
Hi,
I got the tool to pull the hub off, Its the bolt that holds it on that im stuck with. Any method of doing this?
I've tried this method,
http://bgsxr400.runboard.com/t181990,offset=10
But its just not working for me, The bike keeps lifting up and bending the bolt.
Been trying to get this BLOODY! bolt undone for the past couple of weeks and still to no avail.
Anyone done this before and know other way of doing this?
Help will really be appreciated.

Re: Alternator Removal
Ye, its anticlockwise to undo but Suzi put about a pint of locktight onto the bolt when fitting so it's a sod to remove.
I made my own holder using a piece of 1" bar welded to a 1/4" thick off cut of steel plate that i drilled to allow it to be bolted to the three 8mm puller holes with a hole for the center socket.
