i have ordered a set of translogics today, craig is the only guy i know running them. any one know if there hard to fit? or is it a job for someone else?

I would love to afford to be able to get one of them! Or at least justify getting one!

From the reports I've read they shouldn't be too hard to wire in. :D

Most difficult part I had was wiring in the engine speed trace - I had to come off the rear coils and then re-wire into the standard loom to carry the signal to the front of the bike. Taking the trace off the front coil was a little unsuccesful - the alternator kept overloading the system.

It's fiddly, not exactly plug and play, but do-able.

Good choice btw.

just gotta wait for the rest of the stuff now as per usual!! might get the bike on the road this year if im very very lucky!

How is the unit wired to keep track of what gear ur in?

My thoughts were that the Translogic was the cheapest item to give me the looks and quality that I wanted. If I couldn't afford it, I would have rather stuck with the classic OE clocks than resort to the other manufacturers on offer. I was aiming for a sort of WSBK look though.

The gears are programmed when you set up the dash. In setup mode (preferably on a dyno), to program the dash, you ride along in 1st at half revs, then push the button. Change to 2nd, bring the revs to half, and then push the button. And so forth. The computer then works out engine speed to road speed and determines which gear you're in. The gear indicator on mine is as quick as a gear change.
