Wheather or not it's lighter i am not 100% sure, but it is far easier to lift up and move about than the 400. With the fairings and tank off, chassis wise theres not much difference to mckenzies 97 sp on which the bike is based. Obviously the engine is going to be slightly heavier as the head is taller and mine is minus the ramair, but even so i would still say the bike is late 160's to early 170's weight wise. The 97 bsb bike was bang on 162KG's
Insurance wise i have an agreed value on it although it's not enough.

On the RVF, the battery indicator, is it a lascar item ? i have one on the 916 (should be the law) and i would love to get it backlit.
if not which one is it please ?

It was a 20V chinese jobby off ebay. The seller no longer trades on ebay but i have seen several similar. There is now a dual amp/voltage version available that you would probably want for the earlier 916's but i have not yet seen one with the red backlight yet. The one pictured below is what i used, the mount was made using two pieces of carbon sandwiching a piece of high density foam. Hope it helps.

Nice YZF matey. Think I'd have preferred the Virgin colour scheme though

Yep, thats me and my bike. The old scheme was virgin but the yzf750 only ever used the virgin scheme for a couple of early rounds of BSB98 in mckenzies hands, while the R7 was being sorted. Virgin colours are dated nowadays where the old yamaha speedblocks will always be a classic.
