Shock replacement
Hey all. I'm after a new shock seeing as the one that came with the bike is well past its use by date.
Ive found on here the guy who managed to make a GSXR 6 shock fit with a little bit of modding but I was just wondering if any shocks are more of a straight forward swap?
Now on my SV I run a 2005 ZX10R shock which is pretty much a straight swap and is a massive improvement over the stock SV "Spring." I use the term very loosely
Failing that Ive found that Nitron make a shock for the GK76A but I dont really want to be shelling out £200+ on a shock for a road bike.
Any help greatly apreciated.
Cheers, Chris.

Re: Shock replacement
i was the first to run the k series shock on a 76a. Now i have refined it mine even runs adjustable ride height also. Its a swap that i have to say is as good as a nitron or hagon on the road any day.

Re: Shock replacement
That's good to hear, i'm halfway through fitting a K7 750 shock to my GK76aSP. Could you elaborate on the ride height adjustment?
Also, can you offer any advice as to front end modifications once you have the K shock on? My guess is that the front might become the weak link.

Re: Shock replacement
On the front end for the road with the k rear i find the 636 front end from 2003 on is the best way forward.

Re: Shock replacement
636 front end is the nutts!!! You can really push the front (to the point where the crash bung touches down and unloads the rear shock
) Brembo master cylinder makes it even better. Nothing could beat me on the brakes at rockingham, now to work on power!!!
Saving up some pennies for daz to work even more of his magic on it! Massively appreciate the help mate.
