Carbs gk76 pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
Hi
Could really use some help with my carbs, me an my mate are trying to get an M reg gsxr400rp to run right, we have taken carbs off and cleaned and stripped them, replaced all the o ring with a kit one of our forum members sells, changed the plugs and oil and filter etc.
When we start it, has an erratic idle when you blip the throttle it revs up but stays there for quite a while before coming back down, on top of that there is a Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff noise coming from the (stealth edit!!) INLET manifold side of the carbs.
Could this be caused by bad carb balancing? We are going to balance them in a couple of days as they are well out.
we've had the manifolds off and checked them an they seem fine and the carbs seem to seat fine but there's a defined air leak, when we spray a bit of wd40 that side of the carbs the revs jump but we can't see anywhere where the re is bubbles or any signs of obvious leaks.
Can anyone offer any pieces of advice? Is it goin to be easier to just buy a working set of carbs and transfer the new orings from the old carbs over??
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it's starting to realy get to us now an I really want to get it on the road
Cheers
Luke

Hi
Cheers for your reply, we got three of them off an they did look a little corroded so we cleaned them off and re seated them with some instant gasket.
Edit... Sorry I ment inlet manifold not exhaust manifold

the reason there are no bubbles is it is negative pressure. So it is drawing in. Use washing up liquid or something thick like that and find it that way. Until you seal it you can't setup. Ie balance the carbs etc. Sort the leak then come back to me and i'll tell you how to finish setting it up
