Bandit 400 Flatspot
Hi All,
I have a Bandit 400 VC 1992 with aftermarket pipe fitted, it seems to run well but has a big flat spot from just above idle and then clears throught the rest or the rev range and seems to operate well above 1/4 throttle, it also has a tendancy to cut out after a long ride when bought back to idle and i have set the idle a few times. Could this be these O Rings i hear about being dry or possibly blocked or dirty carb does someone have a an idea where to start, Im in a remote area with only minor tools but i do have a manual and i am mechanically minded and rebuilt engines before just not much of a carbie tech !
''
Thanks in Advance Sean

Re: Bandit 400 Flatspot
Thanks templin Just what i need is an excuse to open up the carbs i really would never have notice the oval holes if you had not have given me the idea to check for that! much appreciated. I guess the valve clearence is somthing that must be overdue as well im not sure if there is many mechanics in thailand that could even do it so it looks like im going to have to go there too
Ive done standard heads years ago but this VC stuff scares me a tad but i have no choice ! im not sure the manual i have is up to the task but ill try my best i dont want to have to pull the rocker box off again after i seal it up! If anyone knows a detailed explaination of how to do this or video please link me !
